How to fry beets on the stove
Peel two medium-sized beets and chop them (grate or cut into strips or cubes).
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan.
Fry the beets for about 25 minutes on medium heat stirring occasionally.
Add 2 cloves of grated garlic, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, some salt, and seasoning.
Lower the heat and simmer the beets under the lid for 15 minutes.
For basic fried beets, you need only beets, salt, and oil, but garlic makes the vegetables especially fragrant, and the lemon juice preserves the bright color.
If you are cooking beets for the soup, the cooking time is 10 minutes.
